MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCE

MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCE

1	Gist of the schemes	Maintenance allowance is given at the rate of Rs.1,500/- per month to the intellectually disabled persons with 40 percentage of disability and above. The allowance is sent through “ECS” to bank account of individual directly from Treasury.
2	Eligibility Criteria	The percentage of disability should be 40% and above.
3	Whether form of application is prescribed	Yes. Prescribed format is available with District Differently Abled Welfare Officer.
4	Certificates to be furnished	National identity card for differently abled, Family card and Bank account details.
5	Officer to whom the application is to be submitted	District Differently Abled Welfare Officer
6	Grievances if any to be addressed to	Assistant Special Officer, O/o. The Commissionerate for Welfare of the Differently abled, Chennai – 600 005. Ph: 044-28444940

1	Gist of the schemes	Maintenance allowance is given at the rate of Rs.1,500/- per month to the severely affected persons who cannot be rehabilitated by any other assistance. The allowance is sent through “ECS” to their bank account directly from Treasury.
2	Eligibility Criteria	The percentage of disability should be more than 75%. Locomotor disabled persons who cannot be rehabilitated through any other scheme.
3	Whether form of application is prescribed	Yes. Prescribed format is available with District Differently Abled Welfare Officers.
4	Certificates to be furnished	National Identity card for the differently abled, family card and Bank account details.
5	Officer to whom the application is to be submitted	District Differently Abled Welfare Officer

2	Eligibility Criteria	Persons should be affected with muscular dystrophy and percentage of disability 40% and above.
3	Whether form of application is prescribed	Yes. Prescribed format is available with District Differently Abled Welfare Officer.
4	Certificates to be furnished	National identity card for differently abled, family card and Bank account details.
5	Officer to whom the application is to be submitted	District Differently Abled Welfare Officer.

1	Gist of the schemes	Maintenance allowance is given at the rate of Rs. 1,500/- per month to leprosy affected persons. The inmates accommodated in the Government Rehabilitation Homes are eligible to receive this allowance and deposited in their S.B account directly from Treasury through ECS.
2	Eligibility Criteria	Leprosy affected with deformity of 40% and above.
3	Whether form of application is prescribed	Yes. Prescribed application is available with District Differently Abled Welfare Officer.
4	Certificates to be furnished	National identity card for differently abled and family card. A certificate from doctor stating that the applicant is not curable by surgical/other means, bank account details.
